Since joining Alberta Heartland Chorus in 2008 Cathey has been an integral part of chorus life.
This California girl travelled from Los Angeles to Drayton Valley, where she lives with her husband Rick, raising horses and cats. She has one daughter and three grandchildren who live in Reno. She also has four step children and nine step grand children. Its worth mentioning that Drayton Valley is an hour west of Edmonton and barring blizzards and closed roads, Cathey doesn’t miss a rehearsal, performance or team meeting. She is one busy lady.
Cathey is generous to a fault with her time and her talents. She has been on the Management Team for 8 years as the Financial Coordinator. In that position, she has kept our books in order and within budget. She was instrumental in getting a Mastercard for the Chorus and makes sure all financial obligations are met on time.
She agreed to be the Financial Coordinator for the Regional Education Symposium 2017 without hesitation.
Cathey’s sense of humour and fun brings an extra element to our events. She has decorated Camp Skit Night for us too often to count, and co-hosted the Red-Carpet Event in 2014.
She has really come out of her ‘shell’ since she first joined the Chorus. Her beautiful smile, fabulous face and wonderful voice are assets at all performances and shows.
We are very pleased to name Cathey our 2018 Spirit of 26 Award Nominee.
