Brenda started her a capella journey in 2002. We were so fortunate when she transferred to Alberta Heartland chorus in 2013. It was a lucky day for all of us. Brenda is an "I'll volunteer for that" kind of girl. Not long after becoming part of our chorus she was Performance Coordinator and on the vocal warmup team.
Brenda is also a driving force in the lead section as assistant section leader. She has been our retreat chair several times, is our convention chair and one of our pitch pipe blowers, just to name a few of the many jobs that Brenda does and has done. Brenda has this incredible smile and joyfulness that she greets everyone with each week at rehearsal, which makes her a perfect fit as our Membership coordinator. Brenda readily volunteers at every opportunity both at the chorus and regional level. She is always willing to work at and promote fundraising. Brenda's attendance at rehearsal, performances, meetings and regional events is stellar.
Brenda has also kept herself busy, through her sweet Adeline years, singing lead in, not one, not two, but three different quartets, and is currently the lead in "Mosaic Blend", an awesome quartet that competed regionally in 2016 and performed this past Christmas on a local radio program, again, a demonstration of how Brenda stretches herself to reach out to others.
She is a great ambassador for the organization and her ready simile and caring nature can make anyone that enters our hall think to themselves "why wouldn't I want to be here". Brenda openly shows her love and commitment, not only to AHC but to the Sweet Adelines organization...a true Sweet Adeline and our reason for proudly naming Brenda Wells as our 2017 spirit of '26 nominee.
