Fun in 2016

Alberta Heartland was pleased and honoured to be coached by Kim Vaughn, past director of San Diego Chorus.  Kim is a much sought after coach, travelling the world to spread the gospel of Barbershop.

As a quartet singer, Vaughn won her first title in 1976 with High Society, again in 1988 with Savvy and most recently in 2001 with a cappella Gold.

She is one of only eight women to have both won a crown and direct a champion chorus.

AHC Wow's them in Surrey

Alberta Heartland Chorus came home in triumph with two medals from the 2015 Regional Competition.  With a score of 559 they placed third in the midsize category and fourth overall.  The audience was dazzled by the sparkly costume and the close harmony of the thirty-four members on stage.  The Regional competition is an annual event for Region 26, this year held in Surrey BC.  Sixteen choruses competed, four in the "open category".  In the true spirit of Sweet Adelines every chorus was cheered and congratulated on their contest package.  The judges' comments are closely studied and will form the basis of education and coaching until we do it all again...next year in Saskatoon!!!

SNEAK PREVIEW

The sounds of barbershop harmony filled the Masonic Hall in Edmonton as Alberta Heartland Chorus unveiled their 2015 contest package.  An appreciative audience of family and friends applauded and praised the chorus for their hard and work and dedication to the art form.  After performing the contest songs, "All the Way" (written by Sammy Cahn and arranged by Brent Graham) and "If I Love Again" (written by J.P. Murray, and arranged by Nancy Bergman and Ed Waesche), they entertained the audience further with a mixture of popular barbershop tunes.
